Tour in Georgia for gourmets
DAY 1
Arrival to Tbilisi, meeting with your driver and guide at the arrival hall of the airport. Meeting sign: “Capital
Georgia Travel”. Start your personal discovery of Georgia with a city tour of its capital city, Tbilisi. First stop
will be at glorious Sameba – the main cathedral and the tallest religious building of the country. Next up is
Metekhi Church located in the neighborhood of the same name and gracefully situated on a cliff above
Mtkvari river. Your guide will then take you to the new Rike Park to admire the view and perhaps take a few
photos in front of The Bridge of Peace, a stunning modern structure designed by Italian architects and one of
the new symbols of the city. Check inn to the hotel. Free time.
One of the highlights of the day is a visit to Narikala – the capital’s ancient fortress, where the stunning views
over the city will open out before you. You’ll be whisked to the top in a cable car and after your visit will
wander down by foot through the narrow and historic streets of the Old Town, among them the newly
renovated Shardeni kucha – the street which never sleeps, and one of Tbilisi’s nighttime hot spots.

DAY 2
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out. This day is dedicated to Kakheti, wine region of Georgia.
First stop will be in nunnery of Bodbe, a significant pilgrimage site in Georgia due to its association with St
Nino. We’ll then move on to the highlight of today’s tour – Signagi, the so-called “city of love”. Packed full of
19th century architecture Signagi resembles an Italian city with its Mediterranean-style colorful, small houses
and narrow old streets. With views over the Alazani valley to the Caucasus on the horizon the town is a very
pleasant place to while away an afternoon. Proceed to village Velistsikhe, here in winery-museum you’ll have
excursion and degustation of wine and Georgian vodka Chacha. Also you will bake Georgian bread in Tone,
participate in making shashlik. After pleasant and tasty lunch, arrival to Telavi. Hotel accommodation. Free
evening.
DAY 3
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out. Visit local market. Next stop is the palace of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze
in Tsinandali, unique park and winery. Here we will have the best wine tasting (5 sorts). Thereafter we will
visit Alaverdi Monastery and Ikalto – monastery complex (VI-th century). At local café House of Matsoni
you’ll taste Matsoni, the most healthful of all yogurts! It is smooth and creamy and somewhat viscous with a
mild, slightly tart savor. Drive back to Tbilisi, on the way visit KTW winery, here you’ll take excursion and
taste wine. Arrival to Tbilisi, accommodation.
DAY 4
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out. You’ll drive to the resort town of Borjomi. Free time to walk around Borjomi
park, drink famous Borjomi water and relax. Proceed to Kutaisi, which is one of the world’s oldest
continuously inhabited cities. It was founded around 4 millenniums ago. Nowadays it is the third largest city
and one of the most popular tourist destinations in Georgia. Hotel accommodation, free time.
Drive to visit Bagarti Cathedral, Transfer to have dinner with local cuisine and have opportunity to prepare
Georgian dishes.
After transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Free evening.
DAY 5
Breakfast in the hotel. First stop will be to cave Prometheus, one of Georgia’s natural wonders. The cave was discovered in 1984 and includes stalactites and stalagmites as well as many rivers. Then visit Gelati
monastery, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Proceed to region Samegrelo, here you’ll have
opportunity to walk on ancient city’s territory Nokalakevi.
According to legend, Golden Fleece was stolen by the Argonauts from this area. After drive back to Kutaisi, on
the way you’ll visit Martvili monastery, sits on a serene hilltop overlooking the town and the surrounding
valleys and hills. Its church dates from the 7th century. In the evening again enjoying Georgian specialities,
this time corn meal and Suluguni – Elarji. After finishing cooking, we will taste it together with other Georgian
dishes. Overnight in Kutaisi.
DAY 6
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out. Departure to Tbilisi. Stop to visit Mtskheta
Jvari Monastery (Monastery of the Cross),
The Svetitskhoveli cathedral remains at the center of the Orthodox church and has inspired many Georgian
poets and artists over the years. Arrival to Tbilisi, hotel accommodation.
Free evening.
DAY 7
Breakfast in a hotel. Check out. Visit of Georgian market, Dry Bridge, where you will be able to buy national souvenirs for your relatives and friends.
Transfer to the airport.
