Picturesque Places of Legendary Georgia
DAY 1 Arrival to Tbilisi, transfer
Arrival to Tbilisi, meeting with your driver and guide at the arrival hall of the airport. Meeting sign: “Capital Georgia Travel”, transfer to hotel. Accommodation.
DAY 2 Tour to Mtskheta and Tbilisi
After breakfast, you’ll departure to city Mtskheta – the old, legendary capital of Georgia, just 20km from the city center. The historic capital of Eastern Georgia (Kartli) and set at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers, Mtskheta has remained at the spiritual heart of Georgia since Christianity was established. You’ll visit
Jvari Monastery (Monastery of the Cross), previously a pagan temple and latterly turned into Christian
church. Perched on a windblown, rocky promontory, take some time to enjoy the exceptional scenery and take
some photos of this amazing UNESCO world heritage listed structure. The Svetitskhoveli cathedral remains
at the center of the Orthodox church. Legend has it that a seamless robe of Christ’s is buried somewhere
within the temple and you’ll find fragments of paintings dating back to the 11th century, including one
depicting a hand which stories tell is the hand of the cathedrals architect which king Giorgi amputated to stop
him making another cathedral as beautiful as Svetitskhoveli.
Drive back to Tbilisi. City tour. First stop will be at glorious Sameba – the main cathedral and the tallest
religious building of the country. Next is Metekhi Church located in the neighborhood of the same name and
gracefully situated on a cliff above Mtkvari river. Your guide will then take you to the new Rike Park to admire
the view and perhaps take a few photos in front of The Bridge of Peace, a stunning modern structure
designed by Italian architects and one of the new symbols of the city. One of the highlights of the day is a visit
to Narikala – the capital’s ancient fortress, where the stunning views over the city will open out before you.
You’ll be whisked to the top in a cable car and after your visit will wander down by foot through the narrow and
historic streets of the Old Town, among them the newly renovated Shardeni kucha – the street which never
sleeps, and one of Tbilisi’s nighttime hot spots.
After excursion transfer to the hotel.

DAY 3Tour to Ananuri, Gudauri, Kazbegi and Gveleti waterfalls
After breakfast, you will depart for Kazbegi. Our journey will take us along the Georgian Military Road to the
fortress and monastery of Ananuri, which is located on the bank of Jinvali reservoir. Ananuri is the seat of the
Dukes of Argavi, a dynasty, which ruled the area during the middle ages and saw many battles won and lost.
Later on we will visit the pride of many Georgians – the ski resort Gudauri, located at an altitude of 2195m.
We will go up the mountain and enjoy the breath-taking views from the Gergety Trinity Church – built in
medieval time the church is located on the slope of Mount Kazbek with the Caucus Mountains rising in the
background. The only cross-cupola church in Khevi, photos of the church and detached bell-tower have
become symbols of Georgia, inspiring travelers to from across the world to visit Georgia. Free time to have a
lunch.
Trekking to Gveleti waterfalls. (Walk from the main road to both waterfalls and back takes about 1 hour.
Difficulty: Easy). Firstly you’ll rich the first waterfall. The best time to see it is in the late morning when the sun
shines right into the gorge – especially if you plan to batch in a little lake below the waterfall.
After go to the second waterfall, which is smaller than the first one.
In the evening drive back to Tbilisi.

DAY 4Tour to Kakheti: Ujarma, Telavi, transfer to Lopota resort
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out from the hotel and departure to the Eastern part of Georgia – the wine region Kakheti. We will go through Gombori Pass, a stop near fortress Ujarma – nowadays only ruins are left from
this once glorious structure which used to be a residence of the Georgian monarchs in the early Middle Ages.
Thereafter we will visit New Shuamta – the monastery complexes. Stop to Telavi, which is the centre of
Georgian winemaking.
Here you’ll visit King Erekle II palace (Batonis Tsikhe), served as the residence of Kakhetian Kings between
17th and 18th century. The castle encloses two churches, the ruins of a royal bathhouse, and the Persian style
Palace of King Erekle.
Proceed to Lopota lake resort. Accommodation. Lunch in the hotel until 16 00. Free time.

DAY 6 Tour to Kekheti: Nekresi, Kvareli, transfer to Batumi by train
Breakfast in the hotel. Check out. Drive for excursion to Nekresi Monastery. The first church you come to is a
three-church basilica from the 8th and 9th centuries, with a plan unique to early Georgian churches.
After excursion, you’ll visit winery “Kindzmarauli Corporation”, here you will taste Georgian wine. Drive back
to Tbilisi, transfer to train station, train to Batumi. 23:00 Arrival to Batumi, meeting with driver, transfer to the

DAY 7 Tour to Mountainous Adjara
After breakfast, excursion to the mountain Adjara .On the way you will see magnificent mountain forests, the longest river of Adjara – Adjaristskali. You will also visit the arched bridge in Makhuntseti, waterfall
Makhuntseti will fascinate you with its amazing beauty.
Just down the road we will visit a wine house famous for rare and exclusive sorts of Adjarian unique wine
(tasting of wine for extra fee USD 15 PP).
Optional: Rafting on Adjaristskali. The length of the route is 2.5 – 5 kilometers. The rafting time
takes 40 minutes. Price 30 USD PP
After you’ll see 1937 years hydroelectric station. After visit village Khulo, here you’ll take a cable car. Distance
is 4.1 km. The route goes through the zone of alpine meadows and from its final point (the adjacent area of
upper station of the cableway) opens the fascinating panoramic view.
Drive back to Batumi. Free time.
