Today you’ll visit -The symbol of Baku, Maiden Tower was included into the list of World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO in December of 2000.
Juma mosque or mosque in the Icheri-sheher has been functioning since the 12th century. This mosque was built in 1899 at the funds of Baku philanthropist Khadja Shikhali Dadashev. In the 14th century pagan temple was converted into a mosque. The most striking example of the medieval palace structures in Azerbaijan is the Shirvanshah Palace complex dating to the middle XV.

After lunch departure to Temple of Eternal Fire – Ateshgah, which is an authentic Azerbaijani exotic. It is well-known practically all over the world. It is located 30 km from the center of Baku in the suburb of Surakhany.

After breakfast, your guide will take you to another wonderful tour – visit to Gobustan National Park, which is a UNESCO Heritage site. There you will witness the mud volcanoes and visit the Petroglyph Museum, which contains an exhibition of Gobustan petroglyphs. This is a half-day tour, and afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel in Baku. Free evening.

Breakfast in the hotel, departure for excursion to Shamakha, the general elevation of Shemakha is 800 meters over the sea level. One of the most ancient oriental trading cities, it claims to be the city of Kmakhia mentioned by the ancient Greek geographer Ptolomy in his book ‘Geography’. On the way you’ll stop to experience village Maraza, where you’ll visit Diri baba mausoleum, unique monument – two-storied mausoleum-mosque of the 15th century. Free time to have a lunch.
Proceed to Gabala, Two thousand year old city – the most ancient city of Azerbaijan, was for 600 years the capital of ancient Caucasian Albania mentioned in the works of antique historians of the 1st century. Later in the Arabian sources it was mentioned as Khazar. Late arrival to Baku.
