DAY 1 Arrival to Tbilisi, transfer
Arrival to Tbilisi, meeting with your driver at the arrival hall of the airport. Meeting sign: “Capital Georgia Travel”, transfer to hotel. Accommodation.
DAY 2 Tour to Tbilisi
Breakfast in the hotel. You will meet your driver in the hotel lobby and start your personal discovery of Georgia with a city tour of its capital city, Tbilisi. First stop will be at glorious Sameba – the main cathedral and the tallest religious building of the country, walking to Legvtakhevi gorge to see the waterfall, then your driver will take you to the new Rike Park to admire the view and perhaps take a few photos in front of The Bridge of Peace, a stunning modern structure designed by Italian architects and one of the new symbols of the city.
Visit mosque of Tbilisi, photo stop to the clock tower of Gabriadze theatre, where is an angel at the top that strikes a bell to denote every hour of the day. One of the highlights of the day is a visit to Narikala – the capital’s ancient fortress, where the stunning views over the city will open out before you. You’ll be whisked to the top in a cable car and after your visit will wander down by foot through the narrow and historic streets of the Old Town, among them the newly renovated Shardeni street – the street which never sleeps, and one of Tbilisi’s nighttime hot spots. Free time to have a lunch.
Proceed to the suburbs of Tbilisi to visit the Chronicle of Georgia-is a monument located near the Tbilisi sea. It was created by Zurab Tsereteli in 1985 but was never fully finished. The monument sits at the top of a large set of stairs. There are 16 pillars that are between 30–35 meters tall and the top half features kings, queens and heroes. After transfer to the hotel, free time.
In the evening Dinner with traditional Georgian dishes, wine and national show program (Georgian dances and songs). Round-trip transfer included.
Optional tours/activities for today (Extra fee):
• Tour to the National Museum of Georgia. See the treasury of ancient Georgian Kingdoms, Soviet Occupation exposition and other significant historical artefacts.
• Tour to the Ethnographical Museum. Open-air museum where you can see the authentic Georgian houses and will walk to the turtle lake on the fresh air.
DAY 3 Tour to Kakheti: Telavi, Tsinandali, Sighnaghi
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure to the Eastern part of Georgia – the wine region Kakheti. We will go through Gombori Pass. Stop to Telavi, which is the centre of Georgian winemaking.
Here you’ll visit King Erekle II palace (Batonis Tsikhe), served as the residence of Kakhetian Kings between 17th and 18th century. The castle encloses two churches, the ruins of a royal bathhouse, and the Persian style Palace of King Erekle.
Free time to have a lunch.
Optional: In Telavi you’ll visit Georgian cheese enterprise. Here you will have opportunity to taste 3 sort of cheese and see how they are making with Georgian traditions (PP 25 USD).
Proceed the palace of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze in Tsinandali, unique park and winery. We’ll then move on to the highlight of today’s tour-Sighnaghi, the so-called “city of love”. Packed full of 19th century architecture Sighnaghi resembles an Italian city with its Mediterranean-style colorful, small houses and narrow old streets. With views over the Alazani valley to the Caucasus on the horizon the town is a very pleasant place to while away an afternoon.
Optional: Here at the wine cellar you’ll have degustation of wine and master-class of making Georgian snickers Churchkhela. (PP 15 USD)
After the tour drive back to Tbilisi. Transfer to the hotel.
DAY 4 Transfer to Gudauri
After breakfast, check out.
Transfer to the ski resort Gudauri (Duration 2.30 hours), located at an altitude of 2195m.
With kilometers of ski runs, the cheapest ski passes in Europe and sun drenched south facing slopes the resort offers fabulous terrain for beginners and advanced skiers alike. In summer hiking, horse riding, birdwatching and climbing are some of the many activities on offer. A photo stops to Jinvali reservoir and to the Gudauri view point the Friendship monument.
Arrival to Gudauri, accommodation.
DAY 5 Free day
Breakfast in the hotel.
Free day in Gudauri to relax on mountain resort with fresh air or for skiing.
DAY 6 Free day
Breakfast in the hotel.
Free day.
DAY 7 Departure
Breakfast in the hotel.
Check-out. Transfer to Tbilisi international airport. (Duration 2.30 hours)
