EXPEDITION TO MOUNTAIN TETNULDI – 4858M
Actual from June to October
DAY 1 Arrival to Tbilisi
Arrival to Tbilisi.
Transfer to the hotel of your choice and accommodation.
DAY 2 Transfer to Mestia
After breakfast, check out. Transfer to Mestia.
(Optional: Pick up from Kutaisi International airport without extra fee)
Arrival to Mestia, accommodation and dinner in the guest house.
DAY 3 Trekking to Koruldi lake/Tsvimri village
Trekking distance 20 km, time 8 h/15 km, time 8 h
After breakfast, trekking from Mestia (1500 m) to the Koruldi Lakes (2740 m), situated at the foot of the most dangerous Caucasian mountain Ushba (4700 m).
Alternatively, we may trek from Mestia (1500 m) to the Tsvirimi village (1900 m) through the Zuruldi massif (2450 m). Trek back to Mestia.
At local cinema we will see the movie “Dede” directed by Mariam Khatchvan, who comes from Svaneti. The movie will let us learn about the local history, tradition and customs, including ones which are usually hidden from tourist from Europe. After dinner and overnight in Mestia.
DAY 4 Trekking to Amarati pass
Trekking time 2 h
After breakfast, we will go through the Ughviri Pass to the skiing station close to Mt. Tetnuldi (2800 m) by car. Next, we will go to the first camp, after passing the Amarati Pass (around 3000 m). Overnight.
DAY 5 Trek to Kasebi glacier
Trekking time 6-7 h.
Today we will go through the Amarati Pass (3369 m) to Kasebi glacier. We will set up our second camp in the vicinity of the glacier plateau at an altitude of approx. 3700 m. Overnight.
DAY 6 Acclimatization day
Acclimatization day. Overnight in tents.
DAY 7 Climb to Tetnuldi
Trekking time 12-14 h.
Today we plan conquer the Tetnuldi’s peak (4848 m). Early morning (around 2 – 5 a.m.) we will begin the summit push. After descent, rest and overnight in second camp.
DAY 8 Backup day
Backup day if it will be necessary in case of bad weather conditions in the mountains.
Overnight will be in tents.
DAY 9 Trek to Adishi village, transfer to Mestia
Trek to Adishi village through Amarati pass. Transfer to Mestia. Accommodation. In the evening dinner at local restaurant with live music. Overnight.
DAY 10 Transfer to Tbilisi
Breakfast in the hotel, check out. Transfer to Tbilisi. (Optional: Drop off to Kutaisi airport without extra fee).
Accommodation, free evening.
DAY 11 Departure
Breakfast in the hotel, check out. Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. Completion of service.
