Irresistible parts of amazing Georgia
to Metekhi Church located in the neighborhood of the same name and gracefully situated on a cliff above
Mtkvari river. Your guide will then take you to the new Rike Park to admire the view and perhaps take a few
photos in front of The Bridge of Peace, a stunning modern structure designed by Italian architects and one of
the new symbols of the city.
One of the highlights of the day is a visit to Narikala – the capital’s ancient fortress, where the stunning views
over the city will open out before you. You’ll be whisked to the top in a cable car and after your visit will
wander down by foot through the narrow and historic streets of the Old Town, among them the newly
renovated Shardeni – the street which never sleeps, and one of Tbilisi’s nighttime hot spots.
Walking to Legvtakhevi gorge, where you’ll see the waterfall. Transfer to the hotel. In the evening transfer to
Georgian national restaurant, where you’ll have dinner with folk show. After dinner transfer to the hotel.
Dukes of Argavi, a dynasty which ruled the area during the middle ages and saw many battles won and lost.
Later on we will visit the pride of many Georgians – the ski resort Gudauri, located at an altitude of 2195m.
We will go up the mountain and enjoy the breath-taking views from the Gergety Trinity Church – built in
medieval time the church is located on the slope of Mount Kazbek with the Caucus mountains rising in the
background. The only cross-cupola church in Khevi, photos of the church and detached bell-tower have
become symbols of Georgia, inspiring travelers to from across the world to visit Georgia. Free time to have a
lunch.
Trekking to Gveleti waterfalls. (Walk from the main road to both waterfalls and back takes about 1 hour.
Difficulty: Easy). Firstly you’ll rich the first waterfall. The best time to see it is in the late morning when the sun
shines right into the gorge – especially if you plan to batch in a little lake below the waterfall.
After go to the second waterfall, which is smaller than the first one.
In the evening drive back to Tbilisi.
07:00 Transfer to Tbilisi railway station to train Tbilisi-Batumi.
13:00 Meeting with Batumi driver and transfer to the hotel, accommodation, free time.
Batumi is a capital of seaside province of Adjara. For several centuries it was conquered by the Ottoman
Empire, hence the significant amount of population was converted to Islam. Nowadays it preserves a status of
autonomous republic in Georgia.
In the evening meeting with a guide and walking city tour for 3 hours.
You will start the discovery of the city from the seaside boulevard. Take a walk on the famous Batumi Piazza
– the square which was built as a replica of Italian city square. Narrow old Batumi streets. After excursion free
time.
Makhuntseti will fascinate you with its amazing beauty.
Just down the road we will visit a wine house famous for rare and exclusive sorts of Adjarian unique wine
(tasting of wine for extra fee USD 15 PP).
Optional: Rafting on Adjaristskali. The length of the route is 2.5 – 5 kilometers. The rafting time
takes 40 minutes. Price 30 USD PP
After you’ll see 1937 year hydroelectric station and visit to village Khulo, where you’ll take a cable car.
Distance is 4.1 km. The route goes through the zone of alpine meadows and from its final point (the adjacent
area of upper station of the cable way) opens the fascinating panoramic view.
Drive back to Batumi.
Poti cathedral, which is an imitation of Hagia Sophi in Istanbul, built in 1906-07 with the great contribution of
Niko Nikoladze, the mayor of Poti and which was recently renovated.
Optional: Boating trip to Paliastomi lake. (9 km, duration 1 hour) price upon request according to
travel period
You will see astonishing lakeshore scenery, impassable tall thickets of bulrush, secondary wet meadows and the
thick cover of royal fern. From the birdwatching tower, one can observe migratory birds, some of which are
rare species that seek out safe havens in the thickets of peatland vegetation.
Drive back to Batumi through black sea resort Ureki, famous for its black, slightly magnetic sand, which
allegedly has healing properties, while in contrast, most beach resorts of Georgia are made of crushed stone or
gravel. Free time for relax on the beach.
In the evening transfer to Batumi.
