BATUMI CITY TOUR FOR 3 HOURS

Meeting with your guide and driver at the hotel lobby. You will start the discovery of Batumi from the seaside boulevard. Seeing the exteriors of House of Justice, Statue of Love and brand new buildings of the world known hotels. Take a walk on the famous Batumi Piazza – the square which was built as a replica of Italian city square.
Afterwards you proceed to the historical part of the city and discover the authentic vibes of old Batumi: catholic churches, St. Mary temple, St. Nikolay church, mosque and synagogue, Argonauts square with the statue of Medea. After tour transfer to the hotel.

TOUR TO MOUNTAIN AJARA FOR 3 HOURS

Meeting with your guide and driver at the hotel lobby. Drive for a tour of a Mountainous Ajara, which is considerably the most amazing region of Georgia. On our way you will see plains, mountain ranges, carefully dressed in green foliage and stunning waterfalls.
You will also see the longest river of Ajara – Ajaristskali, medieval arched bridge Makhuntseti, built in XI century of volcanic rock boulders and mountain waterfall Makhuntseti with crystal clear water and a height of over 20 m.
Optional: Just down the road you will visit wine house “Ajarian wine house”. (Tasting of the rarest Adjarian wine – 12 USD per person, tasty lunch – 16 USD per person). Transfer back to Batumi.

TOUR TO BATUMI BOTANICAL GARDEN AND GONIO FORTRESS (HALF DAY TOUR)

Botanical Garden of Batumi was famous all over the former USSR for its unique eco-systems and a collection of various exotic plants. Located 8 km north of the city and covering an astonishing 108 hectares the gardens, this Botanical Garden was created by Russian botanist Andrey Nikolayevich Krasnov and opened in 1912. Now an independent institution the gardens cover 9 floristic sections where you can view flora from all over the world, from the subtropics to the Himalayas. The beautiful location of the gardens, rising straight out of the sea make these gardens even more worth the visit. (Entrance ticket price is 8 USD PP)
Later you will visit the Gonio Fortress. (Entrance ticket price is 5 USD PP). This fortification is one of the most ancient constructions in Georgia, with the oldest written reference to the fortress coming from Pliny’s Natural History. Legend has it that Apsyrtus, King Aet’s son who was killed by Jason is buried within the fortress. Gonio was used by Romans for its strategic location on the shore of the Black Sea and became known for its theatre and hippodrome before coming under Byzantine influence and then being taken by the Ottomans in 1547. It is believed that Gonio holds the tomb of the Apostle Mathew within its walls however as the Georgian government prohibits digging near gravesites this is currently unverifiable. After excursion drive back to Batumi.

TREKKING TO MTIRALA NATIONAL PARK

TOUR IS VALID FROM JUNE TO OCTOBER
Trek distance – 7 km, 1 day, pedestrian, difficulty: Easy
Meeting with your guide and driver at the hotel lobby. Departure to Mtirala national park, located at 1,761 meters above sea level and occupies 6,000 hectares. The name of the park is translated as “crying” – due to frequent rains and a damp climate. Mtirala is the pride of Adjara. It is not just a park, but an amazing place in which a tremendous variety of flora and fauna is represented. The park is called “Georgian jungle” due its impassable paths, waterfalls and clean mountain air.
Start trekking to main trail Tsablnari (Chestnut forest), which runs along the beautiful gorge of the Chakvistskali River. A river flows between the rocks and forms into a whirlpool and has an abundance of trout. After walking 2 kilometers, you’ll see a 15 m high waterfall covered in ivy and Colchic box trees. Here is the last point of your trek.
There are designated picnic spots and fire pits near the river bank, where you can have a picnic ordered in advance. (Picnic price PP 12 USD).
On the park territory there is Rope Park is a tourist attraction that is arranged at Mtirala National Park. The eco-tourist attraction welcomes different segments of visitors.
If you would like to make your journey more sportive, interesting or extreme, then take a ZIP LINE. Feel the wind on your face and fly through the sub-tropical forest. Total length – 220 m.
You will be equipped with the appropriate safety items (belts and helmets) and qualified guides will accompany them. (Zip line price PP 15 USD)
Drive back to Batumi.
Note: Trekking to Mtirala Park is possible only in good weather conditions.

JEEP+ TREKING TOUR TO MACHAKHELA NATIONAL PARK

Territory of the park is represented with forests covering the slopes around the River Machakhela. Unique species of relict forests are represented on the area: Colchic bot box, chestnut, nut, hazel-nut, bot, etc. There are three pedestrian trails integrated with the car route in the park area.
You trekking road starts from village Sindieti. The pedestrian trail is 5 km, which goes to the Mtavarangelozi Mountain. The road goes to red beech and bot chestnut forests, mountain springs and ends in Mtavarangelozi Mountain.
After trek back to start point and transfer to Batumi.

TOUR TO KUTAISI AND MARTVILI CANYONS (FULL DAY TOUR)

Meeting with your driver and guide at the hotel lobby. Today you will embark on a city tour of Kutaisi, the legislative capital of Georgia. You will see the most important sights of the city and visit the iconic 11th century Bagrati Cathedral. The cathedral has been extensively restored after it’s cupola was destroyed and ceiling brought down by invading Ottoman troops in 1692.
Free time to have a lunch, afterwards you continue the way to Martvili Canyon, which is a real natural wonder. It used to be a bath place for Georgian Nobles, Dadiani family.

After the tour late evening transfer back to Batumi.

TOUR TO KUTAISI, PROMETHEUS AND SATAPLIA CAVES (FULL DAY TOUR)

Meeting with guide and driver, departure to Kutaisi, today you’ll discover the famous Prometheus Cave. One of Georgia’s natural wonders the cave was discovered in 1984 and includes stalactites and stalagmites as well as many rivers. Lit with lovely illuminations visitors can enjoy petrified waterfalls and beautiful rock formations in the 6 cave complex. You will walk along a well laid path for about 1000m to the sound of quiet classical music which adds to the magical atmosphere in this beautiful place (Entrance ticket price is 12 USD PP, boat price is 10 USD PP).
After you’ll visit Sataplia Nature Reserve. It is famous for fine speleothems and the dinosaur footprints nearby. The tour enters the through-cave on one hillside, crosses the hill underground and then goes back on the surface past the dinosaur footprints. The cave is named after Mt. Sataplia (494m), an extinct volcano, which is now the Nature Preserve. (Entrance ticket price is 12 USD PP).

TOUR TO POTI AND LAKE PALIASTOMI

Meeting with guide and driver, drive to region Guria, small port town Poti not far from Batumi. Here you’ll visit unique Poti cathedral, which is an imitation of Hagia Sophi in Istanbul, built in 1906-07 with the great contribution of Niko Nikoladze, the mayor of Poti and which was recently renovated.
On Poti territory is a part of Paliastomi lake, which is connected to the Black Sea by a narrow channel. Its surface area is 17.3 km² and the mean depth is 2.6 m. Some ancient pieces of Colchis have been found near and in the lake by archaeologists. The lake is included within the boundaries of the Kolkheti National Park.
Optional: Boating trip to Paliastomi lake. (9 km, duration 1 hour) price upon request according to travel period. During the boat trip you will see astonishing lakeshore scenery, impassable tall thickets of bulrush, secondary wet meadows and the thick cover of royal fern. From the birdwatching tower, one can observe migratory birds, some of which are rare species that seek out safe havens in the thickets of peatland vegetation.
In the evening transfer to Batumi.

TREKKING TO KINTRISHI NATIONAL PARK

Trek distance – 700 meters.
Kintrishi National Park is located in a beautiful resort of Georgia – Kobuleti, at 300-2500 meters above the sea level. This is a favorite destination for scientist as well since there are rare species of flora.

The trekking trail begins at the arched stone bridge on the Kintrishi River, in The Village Of Tskhemvani. The arched stone bridge belongs to the second period (XI-XII) of the flourishing age of architecture (the development of stone constructions) and is regarded as a monument of the Rustaveli epoch. According to one legend, it is called Tamari Bridge.
The trail continues to the visitor shelter lying in the green nature, the area is robed with mixed forest (chestnut, beech, hornbeam) stands. The trails head to Tskhemvani St, Giorgi church, which started functioning in 2005. Initially, there was a Fathers’ Monastery, but since 2010 it has been transformed into a Maternal Monastery.
The trail continues to old box-tree stands, with a height of 10-12 m and diameter of 16-21 cm.; the forest is more than 300 years. The Rushavi River flows along the box-tree stands and at the end of the trail, the waterfall breaks the silence.
Optional: You can take a horse riding for below trail or to see beautiful nature – 30 USD PP. Local guide with horse 90 USD.
After trekking drive back to Batumi.

SHOPPING TO TRABZON (FULL DAY)

Meeting with driver at hotel lobby, transfer to neighbor Turkish city Trabzon. Crossing Sarpi border and after 3-4 hours driver, arrival to Trabzon mall. Free day for shopping.
In the evening. drive back to Batumi. (One-way road takes up to 4 hours + border crossing formalities).

EXCURSION TO TRABZON (FULL DAY TOUR)

06:00 Meeting with guide and driver at hotel lobby, transfer to neighbor Turkish city Trabzon. Crossing Sarpi border and after 3-4 hours driver.
Arrival to Sumela monstery (Entrance ticket price upon request) , is 1600 year old ancient Orthodox monastery located at a 1200 meters height on the steep cliff at Macka region. The monastery is constructed on rocks reached by a path through the forest. The beautiful frescoes dating from the 18 th century on the walls of the monastery are biblical scenes of Christ and Virgin Mary.
Arrival to Trabzon. Trabzon was founded in the VII century BC by Greeks from Sinop. Having a beautiful nature, Trabzon is also famous for its historical monuments.
You will see a remarkable monuments of culture of Trabzon: The Cathedral of St. Sophia (XIII c.). At the beginning of XVII century the cathedral was converted into a mosque, and in 1959, after the restoration it became a museum. (Entrance ticket price upon request)
Gyulbahar Hatun Mosque and the tomb remind us of the princess Comnenus, who became the wife of Sultan Bayezid II, returned with his son (later Selim I the Terrible) in Trabzon as a vicar of Sultan.
Ataturk palace (Entrance ticket price upon request) is located within a small pine grove of Sopuksu County. The palace was founded in the early 20th century. Ataturk lived in this palace during his visit in 1914 and 1917. After his death, the palace was decorated with furniture of Trabzon Municipality, restored as Ataturk Museum, where the leader of the state, wrote his memoirs in 1917.

EXCURSION TO SUMELA MONASTERY AND UZUNGOL LAKE (FULL DAY TOUR)

The monastery is constructed on rocks reached by a path through the forest. The beautiful frescoes dating from the 18 th century on the walls of the monastery are biblical scenes of Christ and Virgin Mary.
After you’ll visit Uzungöl (Long Lake) with waterfall. It was formed by a landslide, which transformed the stream bed into a natural dam, in the valley of the Haldizen Stream. The area is most famous for its natural environment. Located in a valley between high rising mountains, the lake and village at first appear inaccessible. Free time for rest.
In the evening drive back to Batumi.
